Dr. Majid Rahgoshay is a Research Engineer specializing in electrochemical energy conversion and hydrogen technologies. Currently working as an Electrolyzer Engineer at Newcastle University, he focuses on designing and constructing electrolyser test systems, including balance of plant components, and modifying existing systems for enhanced functionality.

His work involves developing automated test setups by integrating measurement devices with LabVIEW for precise data acquisition, assembling and testing electrolyser stacks under varying operating conditions, and validating test procedures for performance and lifetime evaluation. Additionally, he investigates the dynamic response of electrolyser systems to power fluctuations and motion dynamics, simulating integration with offshore wind turbine platforms to optimize performance. His expertise includes data analysis, identifying system constraints, and providing recommendations for improvement.

Previously, he conducted feasibility studies on fuel cell-powered vehicles, published over 20 ISI papers (with h-index 18), and contributed to PEM fuel cell stack design and testing. He holds a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering – Energy Conversion and has experience in experimental testing, heat management, computational modeling (ANSYS FLUENT, MATLAB), and electrochemical diagnostics
